I have one of these and although it sounds a bit far fetched, it’s probably saved me from hypothermia on a few occasions. It weighs next to nothing, and you wonder how it will do anything, but it does keep the wind off and when you’re freezing to death that makes a tremendous amount of difference. It also stands up to light rain, or a quick shower. When I first got it, I was worried about durability with it being so thin, but in actual fact it has taken some abuse, and I’ve also washed it a few times and it seems fine. It is ultra-minimalist though – no pockets, and very few features to speak of, but it is great for times when you don’t expect you’ll be wearing it as you won’t know that you even have it with you.
