This is a double layered sock – the idea being that the inner sock stays with your foot, and the outer stays with your shoe, so any friction occurs between those two layers, rather than between your skin and the sock thus preventing blisters.

The lack of friction helps to prevent blisters and reduces wear. Excellent durability and insulation from the outer layer gives superior warmth and wear. The ribbed outer layer hugs the foot but gives a high volume to fill traditional boots.
